AC Maintenance in Westwood, CA

What we cover on a ac maintenance call in Westwood

None of Westwood's 1920s Spanish revival homes were built with a duct chase, and their plaster walls and tile roofs rule out cutting one in later, so a compact ducted air handler set into a closet or ductless heads kept out of sight are the practical route instead of opening soffits through a finished ceiling. The mid-rise condos and student rental buildings add HOA and management sign-off on top of that: rooftop or balcony placement, wall penetrations, and allowed work hours, and that approval process often shapes the install plan more than the load calculation does.

Westwood sits just far enough inland to lose the steady afternoon breeze that beach neighborhoods a few miles west still get, and heat held in the pavement and closely built structures keeps the air warm well past sunset, so AC run times stretch later into the evening here. West facing windows in the older houses and upper floor units drive most of the afternoon peak, which is why shading paired with a correctly sized return matters as much as the equipment itself.
